Kaya Turski Wins Euro X Games Slopestyle
Slopestyle specialist Kaya Turski has also repeated her X Games performance from Aspen, taking the gold medal on this long and technical course in Tignes, France. And with the win, Kaya maintains her 1st place standing on the AFP list. And repeating her silver medal performance from Aspen was Breckenridge’s Keri Herman, who also retains her 2nd place standing on the AFP list. And the bronze medalist from Tignes, Ashley Battersby, also sits in 3rd on the AFP list, albeit a distance 3rd from Turski and Herman.
Grete Eliassen currently sits in 4th place with the folks at AFP, even after only competing in the two X Games events, while most other women have done at least three events. Megan Olenick still holds her 5th place on the AFP list, despite not competing in Tignes for the inaugural X Games in Europe.
Anna Segal bumps up to the 6th post on the AFP list, as her near miss at X Games Europe gives her a needed boost in the points department. Sarah Burke sits in 7th, Lena Stoffel in 8th and Devin Logan (who didn’t compete in France) sits in 9th place. Roz G, known as a pipe skier, sits in 12th place on the AFP rankings.
With no foreseeable slopestyle events for women left, it seems that the AFP rankings are unofficially locked up, with Kaya Turski perceivably taking her 2nd straight AFP Slopestyle title.
