Jen Hudak Wins European X Games Superpipe

The European X Games is like an oasis in the desert on the women’s competition landscape. With no European Open, no big names at the Aspen/Snowmass Open, only one Dew Tour and no pipe at Homecoming, the ladies needed to take advantage of the big points available in Tignes.

Like Kevin Rolland, Jen Hudak repeated her performance in Aspen and has taken gold yet again. With her performance, she retains her 1st place AFP ranking by a hefty margin over Anais Caradeux, who took her first medal at X Games, with a bronze. Silver medalist Rosalind Groenewoud has bumped up to 3rd place overall, moving her teammate Sarah Burke down to 4th place on the AFP list.

Virginie Faivre narrowly missed out on the podium yet sits in a comfortable 6th place on AFP. Mirjam Jaeger and Dania Assaly sit 7th and 8th respectively on the list. Megan Gunning, who held up the rear in Euro X Games, sits in 5th place on the AFP list. Other ladies that didn’t make it to the X Games remained relatively unchanged, with names like Keltie Hansen in 10th, Grete Eliassen in 12th and Amy Sheehan in 13th.

The next  — and last — pipe event for the women is the World Ski and Snowboard Festival, where the race for the top 3 is starting to heat up. Hudak has a sizable lead, but who will take 2nd and 3rd and who will miss out?
