Bobby Brown Wins X Games Big Air

What a night for skiing and what a night for Bobby Brown. The 18-year-old Breck skier not only won gold, but dropped two jumps for a perfect score, one of which had never been done before. Bobby utilized his Switch double misty 1260 and 1440s to jump up to 4th place in the AFP Big Air standings. Silver Medalist TJ Schiller, who made history by doing the first ever double cork 1620, has pushed himself up to 5th place. Bronze Medalist Elias Ambuhl who also made history by doing a switch double cork 1440, has grabbed the 3rd place in the AFP standings.

Sammy Carlson, who failed to make the finals at X Games Big Air, still retains his 1st place standing within the AFP, with Russ Henshaw hot on his heels (Henshaw took 4th at X Games). Jossi Wells, the 5th finalist at the X Games Big Air currently sits in 11th place on the AFP list.

Other names who didn’t make finals were Jacob Wester (10th), Andreas Håtveit (6th), Tom Wallisch (7th) and PK Hunder (21st), who was fresh off injury. Simon Dumont and Jon Olsson both dropped out of the Big Air before the competition yet sit in 16th and 8th overall on the AFP.

With no big airs until JOI in April, the list sits fairly cemented, and we’ll see if Carlson can keep his lead throughout the year.
