Simon Dumont Wins Dew Tour Superpipe Mt. Snow

After X Games and the 3rd stop of the Winter Dew Tour, the AFP rankings have started to take  a more solid shape, although there are a few more big contests in halfpipe left this year, here is how things shake out right now. Jossi Wells, who podiumed at the first two Dews, silvered at X and took 5th at Mt. Snow, is your overall leader in Superpipe, followed closely by consistent finisher and last year’s AFP 2nd place finisher, Simon Dumont. Following in a distant 3rd place is X Games bronze medalist, Xavier Bertoni.

A big jump in the standings goes to Tucker Perkins, who took 2nd at Mt. Snow and is currently sitting in 5th place in the rankings. David Wise, while still injured, still retains that 6th place spot. Mike Riddle has fallen to 7th place, while Justin Dorey and Peter Olenick have both climbed the rankings to 7th and 9th, respectively. Matt Duhamel has also dropped a few spots to 10th place, as he was left out of the finals at Mt. Snow.

Making their first finals appearance at the Dew Tour, Matt Margetts and Byron Wells both skied strongly and have moved up to 17th and 20th, respectively in the AFP standings. Look for more finishes from the two of them. Other Notables include former X Games medalist Colby West in 14th, perennial X comeptitor Dan Marion in 13th and AJ Kemppainen in 11th.

The Aspen/Snowmass Open is next on the list, but don’t look for too many big place changes, as the Open isn’t on the same level as Dew or X, but a big finish for a Byron Wells or Walter Wood could catapult them.
