Sarah Burke Wins Winter Dew Tour Halfpipe at Snowbasin

The Winter Dew Tour stop at Snowbasin marks the first official event for the ladies this year (and it’s only slopestyle). And picking up where last year left off (the last couple years, really) we find Sarah Burke on top of the podium. Sarah who ended up in 2nd place last year from an injury that kept her out most of the year has started the year off strong, sitting in that #1 ranking spot. Second place at the event (and 2nd in the rankings) is last year’s AFP winner Jen Hudak. Both 3rd places go to Rosalind Groenewoud, last year’s AFP Overall Women’s champ.

The rest of the six-woman final went to Anais Caradeux, Virginie Faivre and Jess Cumming, who are now ranked 4th, 5th and 6th, respectively. Other notables, from the preliminary elimination rounds include: Dania Assaly in 7th, Megan Gunning in 11th and Keltie Hansen in 15th. At Snowbasin we saw Davina Wiliams and Kristi Leskinen in practice, but they DNS, Davina for her nagging knee.

Next up on the ladies palette is the X Games, so we’ll see what big mix ups will come from next week’s antics.

Women’s Final Results:

1) Sarah Burke

2) Jen Hudak

3) Rosalind Groenewoud

4) Anais Caradeux

5) Virginie Faivre
