Andreas Håtveit Wins Winter Dew Tour Slopestyle

As the pipe hubbub from the night before faded, the slopestyle finalists took to Breckenridge to show what they’ve got on the long and grueling slope course. In the end, Norwegian Andreas Håtveit fended off the tough field to take the top spot, with Tom Wallisch just behind him and reigning X Games silver medalist Sammy Carlson in 3rd place.

As this was Andreas’ first slopestyle event of the year, the win has given him enough points to sit in 5th place on the AFP list. Tom Wallisch, who had a successful campagin in NZ, sits in 1st place on AFP, while Sammy Carlson — whose first event is also this Dew Tour — rests in 11th place. Bobby Brown, who skied with a tough injury on Sunday, has accumulated enough points for 2nd place currently. Elias Ambuhl, the young gun from Switzerland, took top honors in the Open Qualifier, a strong showing in NZ and a 5th place final result to earn AFP’s 3rd place spot, thus far.

As the final’s cut off is 12 men, there will always be big names left out, and this time around Jossi Wells and Jacob Wester were absent, yet the two still earned points in the semi-finals, pushing them into the 4th and 7th AFP spots, respectively. Henrik Harlaut, who is sidelined with a minor knee injury still holds the 6th spots, from a strong showing in NZ this fall. Henrik’s brother Oscar, has come out swinging, nabbing the 8th AFP slopestyle rank with Russ Henshaw (who also failed to make finals) right behind him in 9th.
