MISSION STATEMENT
To improve and progress competitive slopestyle, halfpipe and big air skiing.

2009 DIRECTIVES

  1. To serve as a unified voice for the athletes.
  2. To bring global consistencey to competition judging.
  3. To improve and maintain top level competitions through athlete directed formats, features, and safety.
  4. To foster positive communication between the athletes and the competitions.
  5. To name an overall world champion by way of globally approving AFP, top level competitions.
  6. To assist existing events and foster new opportunities for amateurs and     professionals to compete and be ranked through a unified and weighted scoring     system.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The AFP will be governed by an executive committee made up of committed and     influential industry insiders with deep connections to all facets of the freeskiing world.

1.    Chris Schuster, President

  • Competition Director for X-Games and Winter Dew Tour.
  • liaison with x-games and dew tour on behalf of AFP

2.    Josh Loubek, Head Judge X-Games, Dew Tour

  • judging criteria and develop judge training programs

3.       Chris Jerard, Publisher, Freeskier Magazine

  • website development, rankings execution, event communication

4.    Michael Spencer, Agent

  • liaison with USSA and FIS on World Cup & Olympic issues.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors works alongside the executive committee to give guidance and advice in key areas and consists of the following industry leaders:

Simon Dumont- 3 time X-games gold medalist
Sarah Burke – Winningest female freeskier in the world
Trennon Paynter – Coach, member of FIS ski halfpipe advisory board
Mike Douglas – Industry leader, Skier, X-Games commentator
David Ingemie – President, Snowsports Industries of America

The Executive Committee and Board of Directors will decide policy, direction and guidelines for the AFP including the World Wide Rankings system and event level categories.
